Introducing Re7 Labs as Official Risk Contributors

We are excited to announce that Re7 Labs will be working closely with Kamino to expand the vault layer in Kamino Lend V2.

Deeply rooted in the DeFi ecosystem, Re7 has been deploying liquidity into DeFi since 2019 and offers a wealth of experience in DeFi strategies. We are thrilled to have them onboard to contribute to the next phase of Kamino’s growth.

Scaling Kamino With V2

The vision for Kamino Lend V2 is to grow the protocol into an open, decentralized financial layer for Solana. V2 introduces two core primitives:

  • Market Layer: Open-source infrastructure for permissionless market deployment
  • Vault Layer: A yield primitive that automatically aggregates liquidity across markets

Combined, these two primitives will unlock enormous growth for Kamino, servicing a vast range of new use cases, allowing Kamino to onboard more long-tail assets and RWAs, and enabling novel yield and leverage products.

Read more about the Vault Layer in the the V2 Litepaper.

As we anticipate Kamino to scale enormously over the coming months and years, we believe that the protocol’s security and risk management should scale along with it.

With the onboarding of seasoned DeFi risk curators like Re7 Labs to collaborate with Kamino’s Risk Council, the vision is for the protocol’s risk management to grow increasingly robust, with the safety of users and the platform always remaining paramount.

Collaborating With Re7 Labs

Scaling Kamino into a decentralized financial layer will necessitate the onboarding of further contributors. In light of the gravity with which Kamino approaches risk management, identifying and onboarding proven DeFi entities like Re7 is critical.

As contributors, Re7 will principally be responsible for deploying and managing Lending Vaults. Each Re7 vault will have a clear mandate or risk profile, with the goal of ensuring a risk/return-optimized strategy. These vaults will be fully permissionless, and users can freely deploy into Re7 vaults.

Though the vision is for Kamino V2 to grow increasingly decentralized, all risk-related activity—including vault or market management—will remain in scope of the Risk Council, who will always monitor the system with the goal of ensuring user and platform safety.

We are excited to work alongside Re7 to grow Kamino via the V2 infrastructure.
